Black blasting powder for stone-cutting
VESUVIT® TN
The black blasting powder VESUVIT® TN is a mixture of potassium nitrate, sulphur, and charcoal. It is a powdery granular substance of grey-black colour with a semi-glossy surface (graphite). VESUVIT® TN is used for easy blasting of unbroken pieces of high-grade rocks (block mining) or for blasting works in easily blasted rocks. VESUVIT® TN is not water resistant, and can be used only in a dry environment under the conditions listed in its instruction manual. It is charged into the blastholes or grooves using cartridges in paper packing. An electric detonator, a safety fuse, or an igniter with an initiation ability such as the standard igniting detonator No. 8 can be used for ignition.
VESUVIT® THH, THH-I
The black blasting powders VESUVIT® THH and VESUVIT® THH-I are mixtures of potassium nitrate, sulphur, and charcoal. They are powdery granular substances of grey-black colour with a semi-glossy surface (graphite) – for VESUVIT THH, and with a matt surface – for VESUVIT® THH-I. VESUVIT® THH and THH-I are used as sweeping compositions and as rocket propellants. They can be used for blasting works as well. VESUVIT® THH and THH-I are not water resistant, and can be used only in dry environments under the conditions listed in their instruction manuals.
